A Wing and a Prayer

I wish I could say that my faith stayed strong through this whole adoption journey, but many times over the last 19 months I came close to despair. It was only the Lord’s goodness that gave me hope. And, as always, His goodness has come through.

Right now, I am sitting in the Dallas Fort Worth Airport waiting for a flight that was supposed to leave at 11:30 am, but now is leaving at 8:00 pm. Yes, we are waiting AGAIN, but that’s a small setback. We are going to bring our girls home from China. Some days the possibility of being this close seemed almost impossibly far away. Yet, here we are.

Our God has provided amazingly for every need along the way. When He led us to adopt two children, we didn’t know how we would pay the many expenses, but trusted Him to provide, knowing that every child is a precious soul of infinite value. And He did this through many of our family, friends, and even brothers and sisters in Christ whom we’ve never met. You, who followed His direction to give generously, even beyond your ability at times. We are so blessed!

As we continue to pray, along with many in the Body of Christ who have come alongside us, I know our Father will give us the strength to handle the difficult days ahead as He heals our daughters hearts and uses them to grow our whole family closer to the likeness of His Son. We also anticipate many days of fun and laughter in this crazy, abundant life.

As others look on the beauty and the mess of the Hays family, I want them to remember the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Thank you, Jesus for leading us on this wonderful, difficult journey. I praise you for continually showing us that You are faithful even when we are faithless.
